Any idea what the 'sizeable' signing on fee constitutes? Hundreds of thousands, millions even?

Afraid not, but being a free transfer and so called big name, it's safe to say it will be seven figures.

Id imagine the agent would get a big fee too. probably just shy of a million. Still, £2 - £2.5mil plus 30k wages for a player of his quality is still good value for money if he keeps us in the premiership for this season (and next possibly)

Pogrebnyak: "I have had a medical at Reading, the results were normal and now we only have to complete the formalities"

"I need a work permit and some other associated papers. I'm practically certain that this will go as normal"

Could one of the points of delay in the Pogrebnyak signing at Reading, be that his current contract is completed on June 30, 2012, and therefor he cannot sign for anyone as a 'Free' until this happens? Look for a signing July 1st or 2nd..........Enjoy!

Shouldn't be, as someone else (name now escapes me) recently signed a pre-agreement and his contract expires June 30th. It may have been Andy Johnson who I'm thinking of.

The work permit has been agreed. It's not clear if the club have received it yet, or of there are some formalities to conclude in a meeting next week as the club say, but I have been told it has been agreed, and because he had a short-term visa agreed in January, there wont be a need for a panel, and it will be the briefest of meetings before signing everything off.

According to FL Pogrebynyak will have no problems with his worm permit. A panel is not required. It is just a matter of time till he is unveiled as a Reading player.
