    Super Pav is officially a Reading player this evening, and will be announced tomorow

    The Russian is sorting out his VISA, and sorting out the finer details.

    Great signing, 35k a week reported, at 28 on a free transfer..... i can't help but see this as a win-win situation

      Fantastic signing imo! I'm not sure where he stands compared to our current strikers though.

      Awesome signing, effectively self funding;

      If he stays 4 years then it's £6million.

      If we stay up that's made us more than that in the first year alone.

      If we go down and we sold him then our outlay is in the region of £1.5m (might be a bit more with signing on fee) and we'd recoup that in transfer fee or he could fire us back up.

      Excellent signing. Can't wait for the football season to start and see some more new faces. A new central defender and attacking midfielder for me :D

      Certainly looked impressive for Fulham at the end of last season, should be a good signing and will keep Anton happy!

      Fantastic signing. Striker who has played at the highest level for both club and country. European football experience and top flight experience in both England & Germany. 28 years old at the peak of his career and lets not forget the McDermott factor. Squeezing every last bit of talent out of the lad

      Pavel Pogrebnyak is set to sign a deal with Reading in the next 24 hours or so. Source Tribal Football

      Goal.com reports that the Russian international striker will join the promoted Royals on a package worth around £12million making him the Berkshire clubs highest-ever paid player.

      Pogrebnyak is a free agent after his contract with German club Stuttgart expired and is expected to sign a four-year deal believed to be worth £60,000-a-week.

      The 28-year old spent the second half of last season on loan with Fulham, scoring six goals in 12 appearances, but could not come to an agreement with the Londoners regarding a permanent move.

      Pogrebnyak has passed a medical at the Madejski Stadium and will sign for Reading subject to gaining a work permit, joining fellow countryman Anton Zingarevich who recently took the reins from Sir John Madejski.

      It isn't for £60k a week. That is media hype. It's approx £30-35k a week plus bonuses, a sizeable signing on fee.
